This section of our website is focused on our Curriculum.

The Curriculum is all the planned activities that the school organises in order to promote learning, personal growth and development. The national curriculum for England to be taught in all local-authority-maintained schools, visit the National Curriculum on Gov.uk to find out more.

Our Curriculum also includes the social aspects imperative for life long learning. We are an aspiring Rights Respecting school which demonstrates the importance of children having high expectations of behaviour and tolerance towards each other as well as the importance of pupil voice.

Cassop Primary School aims to maximise social and academic potential for every pupil. This is reflected in our school’ values and vision statement.

Our Curriculum also aims to teach children how to grow into positive, responsible adults, who can work and co-operate with others while developing knowledge and skills, so that they achieve all that they can.

At Cassop Primary School, we believe that inclusive education means providing all pupils with appropriate education and support alongside their peers. We use the specialist advice, support and teaching from Durham Music Service to deliver Music in our school. The children in Key Stage 2 learn to play a variety of instruments. The Primary Music Progression Map can be viewed below:-
